If you ever want to plan an epic road trip: the US is your probably  your best choice! It’s clear that it offers much more than just an interesting food culture: within a few hours you’ll travel from snowy mountain tops to the middle of the desert, and after the cosmopolitan city experiences you can get to the beach in no time to relax for a day. Not to mention the feeling of freedom a road trip gives you! To help you plan a road trip I’ll be sharing our one month itinerary along the west coast of the US!

Budget: how much does a 1-month USA road trip cost?

My one-month road trip along the west coast of the United States was one of the most beautiful, fun and memorable things I’ve ever done. But yikes – also one of the most expensive ones. The USA is amongst the most expensive countries in the world to travel through, but that shouldn’t stop you from doing it… as it is positively gorgeous.

I had been looking forward to this road trip I’d be taking together with Mr. for a long time. After lots of planning we decided we needed about a month to see everything we wanted to see, plus another week to spend with family in Southern California. And then we started calculating. I’ll save you the time and effort: below I’ll share with you what the exact costs are for a road trip in the US. If you are curious about our road trip adventures along the West Coast, you can check out my other article here!

The USA is probably my favourite road trip destination… not because of its complete lack of a functioning public transport system but because the country is so diverse. It’s addicting, and so I keep returning. From the historical east coast to the chilled and sunny west coast, and from the quiet midwest to bustlin’ Florida. And don’t even get me started on the Natural Parks… they are INSANE. You can go from desert to snowy mountain peaks in a matter of hours. But if you’re planning a road trip in the country of endless highways, there’s 7 things you should know about driving in the US, my boss babe.
