Balkans itinerary: the ultimate guide to a 3 week road trip

Balkans itinerary: the ultimate guide to a 3 week road trip

A while ago, I received an email from a reader: asking if I could share my route for the Balkans. That’s when I realised that though I’ve posted a lot about that trip, I’ve never actually shared my itinerary for the Balkans. Which is too bad, because more people might find it useful. The Balkans is such a beautiful, diverse region, that I highly recommend visiting! It’s still one of my favorite trips ever.

In the meanwhile, it has been two years since my visit, so the details of our trip and how long we stayed where are slowly starting to become hazy. However, I did my best to share our Balkan road trip itinerary anyway.

Itinerary for Java, Indonesia: Cities, temples & rice fields

Itinerary for Java, Indonesia: Cities, temples & rice fields

In November I went to Java on a press trip for a week and a half! Without a doubt, the most amazing destination I have ever had to visit for my blog and I can not wait to share my itinerary with you. This is the exact route I followed, but in terms of the amount of days in one place, it did change a little. For example, you spend less days in Jakarta, but longer in Semarang and Solo, cities that I didn’t really get to see.

Java is truly a beautiful island, the most important island of Indonesia even, because this is where the capital and government are located. In addition, about 60% of the population lives on Java, while it represents only about 7% of Indonesia’s land mass. Java is green, has amazing temples, and beautiful culture, so you shouldn’t miss it when you travel to Indonesia. Also nice: there is no malaria on Java (and Bali) so you don’t have to worry about that! The route for Java that I share with you today is mainly focused on West and Central Java. If you want to see a all of Java, you’ll need at least two to three weeks, but with this Java route you will certainly see all the big highlights!

My one week road trip itinerary for Andalusia

My one week road trip itinerary for Andalusia

I don’t think I have ever received as many questions about any of my itineraries, as I did when I traveled Andalusia! Which is not so strange of course: Andalusia is a pretty magical place! The dry terracotta-colored landscapes with striking white villages feel like a different universe. And when I wandered around the palaces with Moorish architecture, I had to pinch myself to double check I wasn’t dreaming.

Surprisingly there are quite a lot of things to do in Andalusia and a week is actually a bit too short. A week and a half would have been perfect, and if you also want to relax for a few days I would even stretch it to two weeks. Because part of my trip was arranged for me, I wasn’t able to plan everything myself. After I got my psycho control issues out of the way, it was actually pretty fun, since we went to places that I otherwise wouldn’t have gone to. Sadly we didn’t visit Granada: the Alhambra was already sold out for the dates that we were in town, and I would rather come back a second time to really explore the city.

So instead we spent five days travelling and two days relaxing at the pool. Exactly what I needed after five days of sightseeing! This was my itinerary for seven days in Andalusia!

The perfect 3 day South England road trip itinerary

When thinking of epic road trips, the Southern part of England may not pop up in your mind instantly. But there really is no reason it shouldn’t make its way onto your bucketlist. England is filled with adorable little villages, gorgeous historic buildings, green nature, savoury foods and incredibly friendly people.

I recently escaped London and went on a 2,5-day road trip of Southern England (Budget car rental gracefully provided me with a bad ass car), which really opened my eyes to the beauty of my new homecountry, so I decided to share my itinerary with you! Here’s how to have the perfect South England roadtrip.

I didn’t quite realize how small certain cities were, so if I’d known, we could’ve squeezed a little bit more in, but this was actually perfect. It made for the ultimate relaxed road trip.
