Hi!
My name is Milou. I’m a twenty-eight year old entrepreneur that travels the world fulltime as a digital nomad. I’m the founder of two websites (this one and the Dutch version Explorista.nl) and the largest female digital nomad movement in the world: Female Digital Nomads. My main passions in life are travel, entrepreneurship and helping women build location independent lives. I think location independent careers offer freedom to women: whether they choose to work from home with their kids or from airplanes and coffee shops like me.

Where are you from?
I’m from the Netherlands. I was born in Breda, which is only a short distance from the Belgian Border.
How did you start traveling?
I’ve always travelled! I have been fortunate to be born in a country with a passport that allows me to easily travel to other places, plus I thankfully have parents that always cared about traveling to different countries. As a child I spent most of my summer holidays in France, Spain or Italy.
Have you ever been to XYZ?
You can find all the countries I’ve been to on the destinations page. I’ve visited all the countries on this list, but I haven’t actually written about all of them. Some I’ve visited as a child, before I was able to hold a camera… or a pen, for that matter. Needless to say this information would be way outdated. But I still wanted to make a full list of all the countries I’ve been to!
What camera do you use?
I use a Nikon D5300 with a Sigma 17-70 2.8m lens. I occasionally take pictures with my iPhone 6 for Instagram.
How do you edit your pictures?
I’m a Lightroom convert. Haven’t looked back since I switched over.
What country would you like to visit next?
Oh, everything! Currently highest on my bucketlist are South Africa and Japan. In Europe: Iceland and the Greek Islands. But really… I couldn’t choose!
